The proper
choice of an industrial spring is very crucial for any equipment. Industrial
springs are specifically larger in size as they are used in large equipment.
Basically these springs can either be helical/coil springs or non-coiled
springs. These are categorized based on the type of load they can bear such as
compression springs, tension and torsion springs, constant and variable
springs, flat springs, etc. and each of these springs is used for specific
purpose. Compression springs are the most commonly used type and can handle
compression load. These springs are used in almost all types of equipment,
specifically mentioning in vehicles or automotive. Where as tension springs
are designed to operate in tension load and are used in heavy industrial doors.
Flat springs are not coiled but are flat strips of metal.
Depending upon
its shape, all industrial springs are classified as coil/helical
springs, conical springs, wave springs, flat springs etc. The coil/helical
springs are obtained by winding a specific material wire around a cylinder and
are termed so due to their coiled ends. Conical springs are termed so due to
their tapered ends forming conical shape and come into use in push buttons. Wave springs as the name implies, are known
for their compact sized, wave shaped structure and seem to take over coil
springs in the industry. Leaf springs and cantilever springs come under flat
springs. We at MISPL make it easy for you to choose the right type you need.
